Linda Aldridge

Linda Aldridge is an artist, illustrator, and writer born in Winchester, Massachusetts, and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She has lived and painted in Monticello since 1983 and is currently the Jasper County Historical Foundation’s Artist in Residence at Thomas Persons Hall. Working primarily in oil, watercolor & ink, and acrylic, Linda depicts landscapes, animals, structures, and scenes of Middle Georgia, trying to capture on paper and canvas the wonder she feels at the natural world, the weathered brick and wood of our historic buildings, and the warmth of the people of middle Georgia as we go about our business.

Her book illustrations include Ted Dunagan’s Yellow Watermelon series and Stone Workman’s The Animals and the Manger, A Mother’s Love, and The Four-Way Stop. Her novel, The Liberty Guild, is inspired by a lifelong fascination with artists and their stories.

Over the years Linda has enjoyed working in various parts of the community: school, bank, church, library, and Chamber of Commerce, and volunteering throughout. She is happiest drawing, painting, reading, hiking, making music, and spending time with family.
