Holly Parker

Holly Parker’s art reflects her obsession with story, presented against a rich background of color and texture. Purpose-driven to tap into the viewer’s imagination, many of her paintings suggest place,
mood, and relationships. She seeks to create mini-worlds where viewers can enter and explore, sometimes even discovering something new about themselves.

Holly Parker’s artistic career began with an interest in music that led to a degree in music education from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. During a teaching career she discovered artistic interests beyond music reaching deep into the visual arts. In retirement she has devoted full time to visual creations, first in three-dimensions as a gourd artist, and later as a painter. Throughout her artistic career the tools of creation—the physical, emotional, and creative mechanisms that transform perception into product—have animated and directed her work. She resides and works in Eatonton, Georgia where she was born.
