Meagan Thomas
Meagan has always been drawn to art and the exploration of artistic expression since childhood. Encouraged by family, she routinely carried a sketch pad and art supplies on every family trip. She graduated from SCAD Savannah, with a focus on illustration; her favorite experiences being the life drawing classes and sessions.
In 2019, she began the self-taught journey of learning oil painting, quickly gravitating to Plein-air and studio studies. After a history focused on pen, ink, and acrylic mediums, painting in oils re-ignited her passion for art with a focus on contemporary impressionism and the exploration of landscapes, florals, still life, and the portraiture of people and pets in oil. She has been inspired from attending numerous live and virtual demos from contemporary artists including Jenifer Genari, Arthur Gain, Howard Lyon, Michelle Held, Manon Sander, Kathy Odum, Suzie Baker and many more. Most recently she attended a four day workshop at Scottsdale Art School in AZ with floral and landscape painter Matt Ryder. Meagan can be found Plein-air painting or working in her home studio in the evenings and on the weekends.
