Sylvia WilletteOh Georgia ! It's not the state but the Georgia who welcomed us to to Uncle Remus Museum that will keep Georgia on my mind. We just stopped on a rainy day to get a quick break and figured we'd enjoy some memories. Spent a few hours learning so much and laughing with the best docent she was full of knowledge, stories of her life and the town that all came together and just made the best visit. Museum is larger than it appears with lots of treasures to look and and a nice gift shop. Well worth a stop give yourself time to enjoy.

Mimi Choate3 former slave cabins co- located to house this dense collection of Uncle Remus paraphernalia in the hometown of Joel Chandler Harris. Our museum hostess Sara was delightful and very knowledgeable. I would wager that for better or worse this museum has some of the only remaining Song of the South movie memorabilia in the world, as the Brer Rabbit stories are the basis for the movie. (Disney has worked hard to erase all evidence of this movie with unfortunate white washed imagery of slavery). $7 per adult. $20 for family of 4

Mark KauffmanTake your time here. This isn’t a walk through museum. Read the history behind the author. It’s not fancy, nor should it be. Think about where these stories came from and appreciate the buildings around and what they mean.

Campeon MarineroThis was an absolute treat and emotionally joyous visit for me. I feel beyond grateful that this museum exists. It truly keeps the spire of Uncle Remus alive. Once I discovered of its existence I had to make it a top go-to visit! The kind lady was very informative and highly knowledgeable of the museums history.
